Glauber Cruz graduated in Industrial Mechanical Engineering (2004) by Federal Institute of Technological Education of Maranhão (IFMA), Master in Aeronautical and Mechanical Engineering (2006) by Aeronautical Technological Institute (ITA) and PhD in Mechanical Engineering (2015) by Engineering School of São Carlos (EESC) - University of São Paulo (USP). Currently he is Associate Professor and Researcher of the Mechanical Engineering Course of Federal University of Maranhão (UFMA). His expertise are in Transport Phenomena (Fluid Mechanics, Heat and Mass Transfer, and Thermodynamics) and Numerical Simulation of Thermal Systems (CFD), use of various lignocellulosic materials (biomass) or solid waste for the bioenergy production and biofuels, thermal and physicochemical characterization of these materials by various analytical techniques; Chemical kinetics of the thermal decomposition reactions of these residues for the determination of activation energies; Gaseous emissions and/or pollutants formation under different thermochemical processes (combustion, oxy-fuel combustion, pyrolysis and gasification) for clean energy generation.

Zhi-Bing Dong is a Chutian Distinguished Professor at Wuhan Institute of Technology (WIT). He spent one year as a visiting PhD student (2007-2008) with Prof. Paul Knochel at Ludwig-Maximilians-University, and then obtained his PhD in 2008. Later he joined Prof. Shu Kobayashi’s group at the University of Tokyo (2010每2011), and worked with Prof. Carsten Bolm at RWTH as an Alexandervon Humboldt Postdoctoral Fellow (2011每2012). He made visiting professorships with Prof. Aiwen Lei in Wuhan University from 2013-2014, and with Prof. Paul Knochel at Ludwig-Maximilians-University from 2017-2018. His research interests deal mainly with the transition metal catalyzed C每X(X = S, O, N, C) bond-formation reactions and organic reactions in water.

Sc. and Ph. D degrees in 2001 and 2005, respectively, in Heterocyclic Chemistry from Ain Shams University. Awarded a post-doctoral scientific grant for supporting young researchers (2007) from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (Egypt) in organophosphorus laboratory, Institute of Polymers, Bulgarian Academy of Science, Sofia, Bulgaria. He has published more than 66 scientific papers including 14 review articles, all in international journals. His research interests are in synthesis and chemical reactivity of phosphorus compounds containing bioactive heterocyclic systems.

Professor Dr. Tapashi Ghosh Roy has been working as a professor in the Department of
Chemistry at the University of Chittagong, Bangladesh. Dr. Roy did her BSc honours and
MSc in Chemistry from the University of Chittagong (Bangladesh). She completed her PhD
degree from the Indian Institute of Technology (I.I.T) Roorkee, U.P. India and post-doctoral
fellowships from USA, Germany, Japan, Korea and Argentina. Her research activities were
mainly centered on Organometallic compounds, Macrocyclic compounds, Bioinorganic
compounds, Coordination compounds and Tribology (oil, lubricant and additive). Her
research interest involves the synthesis and characterization of new biologically important
ligands and complexes, biological study, Environmental Chemistry, spectroscopic study,
kinetic study, mechanistic study, X-ray structure determination, electrolytic behavior study
etc. As an output of her research she has published 75 articles in peer reviewed journals and
books. Prof Roy achieved BAAS Awards twice for best research presentation in the 15 th and
17 th annual science conferences arranged by Bangladesh Association for the Advancement of
Sciences in 1990 and 1992 respectively and was awarded International Einstein Award for
Scientific achievements in 2009. She has been awarded a number of national and
international research grants and some more awards. She implemented 23 research projects
funded from different sources in home and abroad. Dr. Roy had academic collaboration visits
in the Universities of Germany, Sweden and USA under Higher Education Enhancement
Project (HEQEP) CP#3167 as DSPM (Deputy Sub Project Manager) of a subproject. Dr. Roy
has been supervising M.S., MPhil and PhD students since 1994. She already supervised more
than 50 MSc students, 2 MPhil students and 4 PhD students. She attended almost all
Chemistry related conferences held in Bangladesh as well as in abroad and presented many
research papers in conferences held in home and abroad. Prof. Roy is also working as
editorial board member and reviewer of many reputed journals. She is a life member of many
prestigious and learned societies in home and abroad.

After working for Hacettepe University, He joined the Department of Chemistry at Namık Kemal University as an Assistant Professor in 2009 and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2012. He became a Professor at Namık Kemal University in 2015 and has been in charge of Coordination Chemistry Laboratory. Then he conducted his postdoctoral research at Chubu University (Japan) in Prof. Hisashi Yamamoto’s group where he was a Synfacts (Thieme) contributor providing latest highlights of frontier transition metals catalysis research (2017-2018). His projects were about synthesis of peptides based on metal catalysis. At the end of 2018, he joined the James Dahlman lab at the Georgia Institute of Technology as a postdoctoral fellow where he will carry out interesting projects at the interface of Chemistry and biology.
