His expertise lies across several fields, including the synthesis and functionalization of conductive and fluorescent nanomaterials for multifunctional applications such as drug delivery, tissue engineering, biosensors, bioimaging, and energy conversion. He has published 58 peer-reviewed papers with total citations over 6100 times (Web of Science). One paper has been included as the “Top 10 Most Cited Paper in China during 2007-2016 (Citations>2900)”. His h index is 27. He is the Executive Council Member of National Materials New Technology Development Research Institute and the Council Member of Zhejiang Provincial Biomedical Engineering Society. He has received several awards including Scopus Young Researcher Award in China, Qianjiang Distinguished Scholar Award, Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-financed Students Abroad, and the 1st Class Award of the Medical Health Science and Technology Prize from Zhejiang Province.

Dr. Bingyang Shi currently serves as a Professor and as the Executive Director at the Macquarie-Henan University Joint centre for Biomedical Innovation. He completed his Post-Doctoral in 2014 from ARC Centre of Excellence for Nanoscale BioPhotonics. His current area of interest is to address the major challenges in the treatment of brain dieases – which is the successful delivery of therapeutic agents across the Blood Brain Barrier (BBB). He has established a new toolbox of advanced delivery systems for targeted drug and gene delivery for brain cancer, Alzheimer’s disease and motor neuron disease and assessed their pre-clinical therapeutic potential. These research results have led to 65 peer-reviewed journal articles (15 first authored and 25 corresponding authored ones) in top-tier journals including Nature Nanotech., Adv. Materials, Angew. Chem. and Trends in Biotech and three book chapters.

He was selected as the New Century Excellent Talent of the Ministry of Education, and the one in“Thousand, Hundred and Ten scholars” of Guangdong Province. Mainly engaged in the design, preparation, forming and application of high performance metallic materials. In recent years, he has carried out more than 30 governmental research projects, including the national natural science foundation project, the national defense basic scientific research project, the equipment pre-research project, the Guangdong science and technology plan project, the Guangdong natural science foundation project, "863" plan, etc. He won the first prize of Guangdong science and technology and the second prize of national scientific and technical progress nominated by the Ministry of Education of China. He has 156 published papers to his credit, of which 135 papers are indexed by SCI and EI. He has appliedfor 45 invention patents, of which 31 are authorized.

Since 2007, he joined Shandong University as a professor at School of Materials Science and Engineering in 2007. His research included liquid structure of materials, solidification of liquid, surface and interface of materials, wetting and anti-wetting, nanowires and nanosheet, nanoelectronics, nanomechanics, energy materials, and computational materials. Up to now, he has published 160 papers and 8 book chapters. Dr. Li is a recipient of the Taishan scholars (2013), he is an expert with outstanding contributions in Shandong province (2013), Shandong Outstanding Youth Fund (2008, first session), Education Ministry's New Century Excellent Talents (2005), Natural Science Award from Ministry of Education (2009), and the Shandong Natural Science Award (2013). He was awarded “Distinguished Professor of Special Appointment at Shanghai Institutions of Higher Learning” in 2014/2018 and “Shanghai Academic Research Leader” in 2019, respectively. His present research interest involves polymer self-assembly and functional materials for optoelectronic and energy-related applications. He has published over 100 papers in international refereed journals.

Since 1998, he is a Senior Materials Engineer and a Project Manager at Inframat Corporation, USA, where he is responsible for R&D of two US Navy’s projects. Based on his invention, nanostructured ceramic coatings surpassed the US Navy’s standards and obtained the Navy’s application certificate. From 2001 to 2004, Dr. Wang worked at the University of Alberta, Canada as a Visiting Professor. Now, Dr. Wang is a Professor of Harbin Institute of Technology, China. His research activities are on Materials Tribology and Nano Surface Engineering. He has published more than 300 papers.
