Dr. Cheung received his PhD from University of Southern California. He is the Professor at the University of Miami and the Senior Veteran Affairs Research Career Scientist at the Miami VA Medical Center. He is the Editor of the Current Tissue Engineering and the E-Book “Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine. He was awarded NIH Postdoctoral Fellowship and Research Career Developmental Award, Distinguish Visiting Scholar Award (Chinese U. of Hong Kong) and Florida Federal Employee of the Year Award, Florida Education Fund Jones Outstanding Mentor Award and U. of Miami Graduate School Faculty Mentor of the Year.

Dr. Franklin Garcia-Godoy is Senior Executive Associate Dean for Research, Director of the Bioscience Research Center, and Chair, Department of Bioscience Research, College of Dentistry, University of Tennessee Health Science Center, Memphis, Tennessee.

He is also Senior Clinical Investigator, The Forsyth Institute, Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA and an Adjunct Faculty, Department of Biomedical Engineering, University of Memphis, Memphis, Tennessee.

Dr. Garcia-Godoy is Adjunct Professor, Department for Conservative Dentistry (Restorative and Endodontics), Periodontology and Pediatric Dentistry, University of Munich, Munich, Germany (6/1999- )

He is Honorary Professor of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo).

Professor Noguchi completed his MD in 1996 and his PhD in 2002 at the Okayama University, Japan. He worked at Harvard Medical School (2002-2003). He achieved the Japanese first case of islet transplantation from non-heart-beating donor (2004), the world’s first success with living donor islet transplantation (2005), and Japanese first case of islet transplantation from brain-dead donor (2013). He was the Director of Regenerative Research Islet Cell Transplant Program at Baylor Research Institute (BRI, US) (2009-2010). He is currently the Professor of Department of Regenerative Medicine and Director of Regenerative Medicine Research Center at University of the Ryukyus.

Dr. Xiumei Wang is a professor of the School of Materials Science and Engineering in Tsinghua University. She received her B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in materials science and engineering from Tsinghua University in 2000 and 2005, respectively. After her postdoctoral research work at the Center for Musculoskeletal Research of University of Rochester Medical Center, USA and the Center for Biomedical Engineering of Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA from 2005 to 2008, WANG joined Tsinghua University in 2008. Her current research interests focus on nerve regeneration, cranial bone regeneration, and angiogenesis.

Dr. Huang is Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Miami (UM) College of Engineering, USA. Dr. Huang has nearly 20 years of experience in orthopedic research. Dr. Huang has published more than 50 scientific publications. Dr. Huang also serves as a member of the editorial boards of Current Tissue Engineering and Journal of Medical Engineering. Dr. Huang obtained his PhD in Mechanical Engineering/Biomechanics at Columbia University (2001).

Dr. Kodama is a Professor and Chairman in Department of Regenerative Medicine & Transplantation, Faculty of Medicine, Fukuoka University. He also serves in Center for Regenerative Medicine at Fukuoka University Hospital and Research Institute for Regenerative Medicine at Fukuoka University as a Director.

His specialties are stem cell researches, cell transplantation including islets, lymphangiogenesis, transplantation immunology and tissue engineering.

Dr. Muench received his doctorate (Ph.D.) in Cell Biology & Genetics from the Joan and Sanford I. Weill Medical College of Cornell University. He also obtained a B.S. degree in Genetics from the University of California at Davis and an A.S. degree in Physical Sciences from the College of Marin. Currently, Dr. Muench is a Senior Scientist at Blood Systems Research Institute in San Francisco and an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Laboratory Medicine at the University of California San Francisco. Dr. Muench has published over 100 peer-reviewed papers, review articles and book chapters.

Dr. Giovanni Vozzi graduated in Electronic Engineering in 1998 from the University of Pisa. In 2002, he obtained a PhD degree in Bioengineering from Polytechnical of Milan. Since 2014, he is an associate professor of Bioengineering. His principal research interests are (a) study and mechanical, chemical and cell characterisation of novel biomaterials (b) development of new micro and nanofabrication techniques for application to Biomedical Engineering. These scientific activities are demonstrated by more then 100 papers on International journals, 11 book chapters and 21 patents.

Dr. Verma is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Biotechnology and Medical Engineering in National Institute of Technology. Dr. Verma has a Ph.D. from North Dakota State University in Materials and Nanotechnology. After completing Ph.D., he joined Rutgers University for his Post-doctoral research. His Research focus is on Biomaterials, Wound healing and Tissue Engineering.

Professor Ahmad ORYAN was born in Iran, finished his high school and finished his DVM studies from the School of Veterinary Medicine, Shiraz University, Shiraz Iran. He started his PhD at Pathology Department, Medical School, Bristol University, United Kingdom and finished his PhD. He started as an Assistant Professor at Department of Pathology, School of Veterinary Medicine, Shiraz University, Shiraz Iran in 1989 and was promoted to Associate Professor in 1993 and to Professor in 1998. He has published more than 300 scientific papers in high rank scientific journals and wrote five books in various disciplines of Pathology.

Rogério Pedro Pirraco completed his PhD in Tissue Engineering, Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cells at the University of Minho, Portugal, in collaboration with the Institute of Advanced Biomedical Engineering and Science of the Tokyo Women's Medical University, Japan. In 2016, he was awarded a career starting grant by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) and is currently an Assistant Researcher at the 3B's Research Group of the University of Minho. He has authored more than 35 peer-reviewed articles, 4 book chapters and co-edited 1 book.

Dr. Naresh Kasoju is a Scientist in Applied Biology from the Biomedical Technology Wing, Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram, India. He received B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Biotechnology from Kakatiya University, Warangal, India, Osmania University, Hyderabad, India, and Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, Guwahati, India, respectively. He obtained postdoctoral experience from Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry, Prague, Czech Republic and University of Oxford, Oxford, United Kingdom. He is a young research professional having a demonstrated history of working in biomaterials, cell - material interactions and tissue engineering.

Esmaeil Biazar (born October 25, 1977, Ramsar, Iran) is an Iranian academic, an assistant professor at IAU (Iran) university. He has carried out research in the area of tissue engineering and biomaterials. He has developed a number of methods for controlling the stem cell microenvironment using micro and nano scales devices and to engineer biomaterials for soft tissue engineering. He has published extensively in the area of nanomedicine and stem cell bioengineering. He has over 100 peer-reviewed publications, more than 10 invited presentations and 14 patents and 2 books.

Dr. Vincenzo Guarino has a PhD degree in Materials Science and Biomaterials. He is a Researcher Scientist at the National Research Council of Italy - Institute of Polymers, Composites and Biomaterials. His main research interests include processing technologies for polymer and composite scaffolds and electrohydrodynamic technologies for the fabrication of micro/nanofibres, particles and capsules for biomedical use. He is involved in national and international projects with research Institutes, universities and R&D companies, as scientific responsible or supervisor of post doc and PhD students. He is author/co-author of about 80 international publications, 11 chapters in International books, 2 patents and over 200 contributions to international/national conferences.

Dr. Chen is currently an Associate Professor in Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (SICCAS). He received his BSc and MSc from Anhui Normal University in 2005 and Donghua University in 2008. Then, he joined SICCAS as a research fellow in 2008, and revived his PhD from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2014. He has been focusing his research on nano biomaterials and their applications in tissue engineering since 2005. He has published over 100 international peer-reviewed papers with more than 2,000 citations (H-Index 26), as reported in Web of Science, and gotten over 17 issued Chinese patents.

Dr. Biman B. Mandal is an Associate Professor at Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering, Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG). His research interest is Tissue Engineering, Silk Biomaterials and Stem cells. Dr. Mandal received his Ph.D. from IIT Kharagpur and his Post Doc at Tufts University, USA. He is a recipient of numerous National and International awards and recognitions including NASI-SCOPUS, INSA and NASI medals. Dr. Mandal has authored 58 highly referred articles with a cumulative impact factor of 298+, 1900+ citations and H-index of 25. He is lead inventor in 04 US and 06 Indian patents, contributed 04 book chapters and is editorial board member of 05 International Journals.

Cesar V. Borlongan serves as Professor and Vice Chairman of University of South Florida Department of Neurosurgery and Brain Repair. He is a world leader in stem cell therapy for stroke and TBI. He has authored >375 peer-reviewed publications. He reviews for NIH, VA, and DOD, and chairs the Maryland Stem Cell Research Fund. He is the Vice President of International Placenta Stem Cell Society and was a past president of the American Society for Neural Therapy and Repair. He is a Fellow of AAAS and AIMBE. His research support comes from NIH, VA, and DOD and stem cell companies.

Dr Cao has been establishing iHuman since 2003. He is Vice Dean, Director of Oral Sciences Disciplines, Faculty of Dentistry, National University Health System, and National University of Singapore. He is Invited Reviewer for 12 renowned international research funding agencies and authorities including Cancer Research UK, Medical Research Council UK, and Wellcome Trust UK, European Science Foundation, Times Higher Education, World University Rankings, Elsevier. He serves as Editor-in-Chief, Advisory Editorial Board, Editorial Advisory Board, and Editorial Board for 10 international peer review journals. He has been invited and sponsored to speak at 49 international conferences and scholarly meetings.

Dr. Cui obtained a doctorate (Ph.D.) in Materials Science from Tsinghua University, Beijing. Dr. Cui did Postdoc in FOM Institute at Amsterdam, and Visiting scholar in the Center of Materials Science and Engineering of MIT of USA. Currently Dr. Cui is an Professor in the School of Materials and Engineering of Tsinghua University, and the Executive Editor-in-Chief of Regenerative Biomaterials. He has published more than 400 scientific publications and is a named inventor of 40 issued patents. Dr. Cui was voted as a Fellow of American Institute of Medical and Biologic Engineering.

Dr. Fedak is a cardiac surgeon-scientist with a focus on basic translational research. The overarching theme of his research program is to develop a better understanding of the role of extracellular matrix in cardiovascular health and disease. He aims to leverage these insights into new surgical.

Dr. Harris is a graduate of Wake Forest University where he obtained BS in Biology, Mathematics and Psychology. He earned his Doctorate in Microbiology and Immunology in 1982. In 1989 Dr. Harris joined the faculty at the University of Arizona in the Department of Immunology. Dr. Harris established the first cord blood bank in 1992. He currently serves as the Executive Director of the University of Arizona Biorepository, as well as Director of Quality at the GMP Laboratory. His research interests include stem cells and regenerative medicine.

Dr.Karaoz received Ph.D. degree in the Department of Histology&Embryology at Medical School of Gazi University in 1994. He established Turkey's first Stem Cell Research Center in 2006 at Kocaeli University. He has been working as the head of the GMP facility at Liv Hospital. In this facility, It has been produced the cellular products under FDA and GMP regulations. These cells are used in the treatment of many kind of diseases.

Dr. Moon Suk Kim is the Professor of Department of Molecular Science and Technology at Ajou University in South Korea. He is also Adjunct Professor of Purdue University, U.S.A. He served as a Principal Research Scientist in Nanobio-Fusion Research Center, Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology from 2003-2009. He moved to Ajou University in 2009 to focus on development of biomaterials as drug, cell and gene carriers for tissue engineering and regenerative Medicine.

He is a member of the Korea Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine Society. Moreover, from 2015 to the present, he serves as a TERMIS-AP Council Members. He has published ~170 peer-reviewed research manuscripts, ~20 book chapters and holds more than 27 issued patents.

Dr. Techung Lee holds a Ph.D. in Microbiology from Medical College of Virginia and an M.S. in Biochemistry from National Taiwan University School of Medicine. He received his post-doctoral training in Developmental Biology from Baylor College of Medicine. Presently, he is Associate Professor at the Department of Biochemistry and Department of Biomedical Engineering, University at Buffalo. His current research concerns stem cell biology and extracellular matrix remodeling. He has served on many NIH Study Sections, published more than 50 scientific publications, and is actively involved in teaching medical students.

Dr Alexandra P. Marques obtained her PhD on Materials Science and Technology - Biomaterials in the University of Minho, Portugal and in cooperation with the University of Liverpool, UK. Dr Marques is a founder member, Vice-Director and Principal Investigator of the 3B’s Research Group, University of Minho, Portugal. Dr Marques is Assistant Editor of the Journal of Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine (TERM), John Wiley & Sons – Blackwell. She is co-editor of 2 books, author of 170 publications (76 peer-reviewed, 14 book chapters, 77 ISI indexed conference abstracts) and co-inventor of 2 patents.

Dr. Randall D McKinnon, ¬PhD is Associate Professor of Neurosurgery, Rutgers – RW Johnson Med¬ical School ¬in New Jersey USA. Dr. McKinnon received hi¬s BSc from Queen’s Un¬ivers¬ity (Kingston, Canada), hi¬s PhD ¬in Virology from McMaster Uni¬vers¬ity (Hami¬lton, Canada), postdoctoral tra¬ini¬ng at Scri¬pps Institute (La Jolla, Cal¬forn¬a, USA) and was a seni¬or fellow at NIH (Bethesda, USA). He has recei¬ved the 1994 Jordi¬-Folch-Pi¬ Memor¬al Award (Amer¬ican Soci¬ety of Neurochem¬istry), the Gallo Award (The Cancer Insti¬tute of New Jersey) and the Tosh¬ba Explorav¬s¬on Award (Nati¬onal Sci¬ence Teachers Associ¬ati¬on).

Dr. Mokry graduated from Medical Faculty in Hradec Kralove , Charles University, in 1990. In 1995 he defended his Ph.D. in Anatomy, Histology and Embryology at Medical Faculty in Hradec Kralove. In 2006 he became Professor in Histology a Embryology at Charles University in Prague. Currently he is engaged as a full professor and chairman of Department of Histology and Embryology at Medical Faculty in Hradec Kralove, Charles University. He also teaches students in “Stem Cells and Tissue Engineering” at his Medical Faculty and at Faculty of Chemical Technology, University of Pardubice. He has published more than 150 scientific manuscripts.

Dr. Ng obtained a doctorate (Ph.D.) in Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2010. Currently, Dr. Ng is an Assistant Professor in the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is also appointed as an Associate Professor in the Shantou University Medical College, China. Dr. Ng’s research interests include the biology and preclinical trial of human adult stem cells on ocular diseases as well as the molecular mechanisms of retinal cell differentiation and regeneration.

Mujib, Ph.D, a DAAD fellow (Germany), is now associated with Department of Botany, Hamdard University, New Delhi, India. He got M.Sc. and Ph. D. degrees from the University of Kalyani, W.B. (India). He was appointed and served as Research Associate and Mission Engineer in the Department of Chemical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur. He has published around 110 articles, which include four books, research papers and review articles of international repute with impact factors, and book chapters. He has reviewed research articles for about 50 International Journals. He is also the Editorial Board Member of 25 International Journals. Dr. Mujib has been the Advisor / Supervisor of 15 Ph.D. students.

Professor, Rei Ogawa has the M.D. and Ph.D. degrees. He is currently a faculty member at the Nippon Medical School in Tokyo. He is a fellow of American College of Surgeons. He is now directing the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, Nippon Medical School, Tokyo, Japan. He is also directing Mechanobiology and Mechanotherapy Laboratory at his medical school. He joined the Tissue Engineering and Wound Healing Laboratory, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA, where he worked between 2007 and 2009 as a Research Fellow. He has focused his recent studies on the mechanobiology and its application to tissue engineering, wound healing and anti-aging medicine.

Dr. Pelaez is an Assistant Professor at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in the university of Miami. Dr. Pelaez serves as the Scientific Director of the Dr. Al-Rashid Vision Research Center in Bascom Palmer. Dr. Pelaez has a PhD in Biomedical Engineering and his research focus is on Stem Cell biology and differentiation, as well as on tissue engineering, regenerative ophthalmology, neuroscience, and cellular therapies.

Dr. Sakai obtained a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from University of Tokyo in 1993 and stated his work at Institute of Industrial Science, University of Tokyo. In 1997-1998, he stayed in University of Rochester as a visiting scientist. In 2003-2008, he worked as an associate professor of Regenerative Medical Engineering Laboratory at the Center for Disease Biology and Integrative Medicine (CDBIM), Graduate School of Medicine, University of Tokyo. He returned to IIS as a professor and then moved to Department of Chemical System Engineering, Graduate School of Engineering, University of Tokyo in 2015. He has published over 160 scientific publication. He recently became an AIMBE fellow. His current research topics are engineering of multi-scale 3D tissues/organs for clinical applications and cell-based pharmacological or toxicological assays.

Dr. Paul R. Sanberg is Senior Vice President for Research, Innovation & Knowledge Enterprise; Distinguished University Professor; Executive Director, Center of Excellence for Aging and Brain Repair, University of South Florida, and President of the National Academy of Inventors. His work has been instrumental in understanding and developing pharmaceutical and cellular therapeutics for stroke, Alzheimer’s, ALS, Huntington’s, Parkinson’s disease and Tourette syndrome. He holds 158 worldwide patents, authored 650+ articles and 14 books, with over 30,000 citations, served on editorial boards for over 30 scientific journals and is co-editor-in-chief of Technology and Innovation: Journal of the National Academy of Inventors.

Professor Michael Sittinger, PhD, is the Head of the Laboratory for Tissue Engineering, Charité Universitätsmedizin, Berlin. He is further responsible for the field translational research at the Berlin-Brandenburg Center of Regenerative Therapies. He has more than 25 years of experience in the field of tissue engineering with more than 200 scientific and patent publications in the field. He has strong experience in technology transfer and successful product development from own invention to market launch. He is co-founder of several companies developing and commercializing tissue engineering products and he was Director of Research and Development at BioTissue Technologies from year 2000 until 2003.

Prof. Vincenzo Sorrentino is currently the director of Molecular Medicine and Genetics Section at University of Siena, Italy. He obtained his MD degree from the University of Rome and then spent several years working in US and Germany. From 2010 to 2016 he has been the Vice-Rector for research at the University of Siena. He has authored more than 170 manuscripts with a total Impact Factor of 934 and h-index of 46. He is member of the editorial board of Cell Calcium. Current research interest are 1) Molecular and cellular biology of muscle cells; 2) the biology of stem cells; 3) diagnosis and mechanisms of human genetic diseases.

Dr. Kiminobu Sugaya (Ph.D.) is a professor of medicine in Burnett School of Biomedical Science, College of Medicine, University of Central Florida (UCF). He is a Chair of Multidisciplinary Neuroscience Alliance in UCF and a Chair of Central Florida Chapter of Society for Neuroscience. He published more than 200 papers in neurodegenerative disease and stem cell research, and some of them were reported by Washington Post, BBC, NBC, ABC and other media in all over the world.

Dr. Sugaya is also a founder and a chair of Progenicyte, which is a biotech company holding his 67 patents licensed from UCF.

Wolfgang Wagner is Professor of Stem Cell Biology and Cellular Engineering at RWTH Aachen University Medical School (Germany). Furthermore, Prof. Wagner is Cofounder of the company Cygenia (www.cygenia.com) that provides service for epigenetic analysis for other scientists since 2014. His main research interests are 1) hematopoietic stem cells and their interaction with the niche; 2) standardization and characterization of mesenchymal stem cells; 3) interaction of stem cells with biomaterials; and 4) molecular and epigenetic effects of aging, replicative senescence, and malignant transformation.

Prof Wolvetang is a group leader at the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology at the University of Queensland, co-director of the UQ Centre “stem cell ageing and regenerative engineering”, leads the “Cell reprogramming Australia” collaborative network, is a principal investigator in the ARC Centre of Excellence “Stem Cells Australia” and was awarded the 2014 LSQ regenerative medicine prize. He obtained his PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Amsterdam, and has published >110 peer reviewed manuscripts. His laboratory employs iPSC as in vitro disease models and genome editing to interrogate the underlying gene regulatory networks and epigenetic bases of monogenic and complex neurological diseases.

Dr Xian is a Research Professor and NHMRC Senior Research Fellow at University of South Australia. He has more than 25 years of experience in research on tissue growth and repair, growth plate biology and bone growth, bone repair and regeneration, cancer chemotherapy-induced bone defects, and osteoporosis. Dr Xian obtained his PhD in 1993 from Murdoch University; and his earlier research positions include those at Child Health Research Institute, University of Adelaide, Flinders University, and Women’s and Children’s Hospital. Dr Xian has over 140 peer-reviewed publications.

Professor Xiao is currently a group leader of Bone and Tissue Engineering at Queensland University of Technology (QUT). He obtained his BDSc and MDSc from Wuhan University, China, and has more than 10 years clinical experience. In 2000, he graduated with a PhD from School of Dentistry at the University of Queensland (UQ), Australia. He is currently the Director of Australia-China Centre for Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine (ACCTERM). He has published two edited books, 10 invited book chapters and more than 180 journal papers. In the last five years, Professor Xiao’s citation index (h-index: 40) has risen significantly with more than 4000 citations. He has delivered more than 20 Plenary/Keynote speeches in international conferences and over 50 invited presentations.

Affiliated Member of Brazilian Academy of Sciences. Alexander is a professor at the Pathology Department of the Biological Sciences Institute of the Federal University of Minas Gerais. He holds a bachelor's degree in Biomedicine from the Santa Cruz State University (UESC) (2005-2009), a PhD in Neuroscience from Wake Forest University, North Carolina, United States (2010-2014) and a postdoc in Cell Biology from the Albert Einstein School of Medicine in New York, United States (2014-2016). Has experience in the area of ​​Biology and Molecular Genetics, Pharmacology, Physiology, Pathology, Biotechnology and Cell Biology. Currently the key word in the laboratory is tissue microenvironment. We try to unravel the function of each cellular component in the tissues under various physiological and pathological conditions.

Dr Katiúcia Batista Silva Paiva is an Assistant Professor at Department of Anatomy, Institute of Biomedical Sciences, University of São Paulo (USP), Brazil. She obtained her degree in Biological Sciences, State University of São Paulo (1999/2002), and PhD in Functional and Molecular Biology (Biochemistry), Institute of Biology, State University of Campinas (2003/2007) with doctorate stage at Université Claude Bernard – Lyon/France (2005/2006). Her focuses in understanding how mesenchymal stem cell secretome controls the microenvironment and its consequences on cell fate and evaluation of biomaterials for application on Bone Bioengineering.
