He has been honoured for his contributions with several prestigious national/international awards/fellowships, including Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship-2017 (Belgium), Leibniz-DAAD Postdoc Fellowship-2016 (Germany), Best PhD Thesis Award-2015 (The Catalysis Society of India), EuropaCat PhD Student Award-2013 (XIth European Congress on Catalysis, France), and Endeavour Research Fellowship-2013 (Australia). He majored in the durability of offshore structures, especially in the reinforcement corrosion. He conducted research on the electrochemical characterization of anti-corrosion. Also, he designed an acceleration way to deteriorate the concrete and reinforcement in an electrical field. Besides, he paid attention to the concrete behavior in the marine environment, due to the combined effect of sulfate attack and dry-wetting cycles. He developed a chemical-damage-elastoplasticity model to describe the mechanical behavior of deteriorated concrete.

He was awarded with the Prize of the Romanian Academy of Sciences and „Grigore Moisil“ Award for exact sciences of the National Grand Lodge of Romania, and Proclaimed Knight of the National Order for Merits by the Romanian President. He serves as a President of the Romanian Catalytic Society and Secretary of the European Catalytic Society (2011-2015). In present he is Director of the Department of Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry and Catalysis and Director of the Research Centre of Catalysis and Catalytic Processes at University of Bucharest.

He is the recipient of Best Cited Author Award from Tetrahedron Letter. He is the recipient of “Bharat Gaurav Award” from India International Friendship Society. He has published several research contributions to international journals, proceedings, books, book chapters, and international conferences. He is a reviewer and editorial board member in several international journals in chemistry.

He is presently an Assistant Professor of Chemistry in Amity School of Applied Sciences, Amity University Haryana, India. His research interest includes synthesis and application of calixarene based chemosensors and catalysts.

He is also the Editorial Board Member of Heliyon (Elsevier), SN Applied Sciences (Springer) and PLOS ONE.
