Abstract

Postoperative management of cancer patients demands a nuanced and collaborative approach, extending beyond the operating room to ensure optimal outcomes. Anesthesiologists play a pivotal role in managing pain, minimizing complications, and supporting early recovery and rehabilitation. This chapter explores evidence-based strategies, including Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS), multimodal analgesia, and regional anesthesia techniques. It also highlights the importance of psychological support, nutritional optimization, complication prevention, and long-term pain and palliative care. The chapter highlights the anesthesiologist's unique position to lead multidisciplinary teams in delivering comprehensive, patientcentered postoperative care for oncology patients.
