In the last 2 decades, the relation between nutrition and health has aroused
great interest. In this chapter, the background information about the Complex geneenvironment interactions that contribute to MetS will be introduced by highlighting
several Neutrogenomic strategies. The role of nutrition is a significant modifiable
element modulating the expression of many genes involved in metabolism. This
chapter will present the current state of neutrogenomic research discussing the different
gene-nutrient interactions in the context of metabolic disease, the molecular
mechanisms underlying many of these gene-nutrient interactions, and the shift toward
personalized nutrition. Novel modern technologies in Neutrogenomics regarding
transcriptomics and metabolomics will be explained.
