Leprosy is actually a disease that is said to be chronic and it is caused by a
mycobacterium Bacillus leprae. It is related to physical or mental disablement and
mainly it affects eyes, skin, peripheral nerves, and various organs. It is endemic to
various domains of the world. Lesions appear on the body and the peripheral nerves
become thick and tough which are the main symptoms of the disease. Thus, it can be
diagnosed by performing a smear test or by a biopsy experiment. First-line drugs,
second-line drugs, and various vaccines are available for the treatment of leprosy.
