Introduction

Biomedical industries generate massive waste byproducts every day and on immediate need on management of these wastes effectively to reduce environmental contamination load and environmental risk, avoiding over use of landfill and increasing, recycling frequency of these waste along with sustainable economic costs management. In contrast, majority of these waste are rich in carbon content which can be efficiently transform into value added products like carbon nanomaterial. This Special Issue (SI) is targeted towards exploring the feasibility of biomedical waste to transform into carbon materials for wastewater treatment application. Sustainable fabrication possibilities, characterization and effective wastewater treatment application are the major goals to be covered in this special issue. Thus, the SI is looking for different study such as segregating and identifying different pharmaceutical waste, their characterization, management and sustainable valorization into carbon nanomaterials for effective wastewater treatment application. Innovation in fabrication technologies, process and different approach to use these carbon materials for wastewater treatment are also one of the prominent areas this SI is looking for alongwih the relatable use of digital technologies, like AI, and its possible integration into this area. The different topics which can be covered in this special issue; The main subtopics can be (but not limited to) the following: • Carbon nanomaterial from biomedical waste: Types and fabrication opportunity • Fabrication of carbon nanomaterial from biomedical waste for wastewater treatment • Biomedical waste: collection, Segregation and classification for carbon nanomaterial fabrication • Composition and analysis of biomedical waste for carbon nanomaterial opportunity • Carbon nanomaterial for wastewater treatment application • Innovation and challenges in carbon nanomaterial and wastewater treatment • Pretreatment of pharmaceutical waste for transformation into carbon nanomaterial • Different wastewater treatment application of carbon nanomaterial from biomedical waste • Digital technologies for carbon materials for wastewater treatment application We are looking forward for high quality of research articles including original research work, review and short review articles and feasible case studies associated under the scope of this SI.
