Introduction
Oxidative stress is a key pathological factor involved in the development and progression of numerous chronic and degenerative diseases, including cancer, cardiovascular disorders, neurodegenerative diseases, metabolic syndromes, and inflammatory conditions. Considerable scientific interest has recently focused on the discovery and characterization of bioactive compounds from natural and synthetic sources capable of modulating oxidative stress and related molecular pathways.
This thematic issue aims to highlight recent advances in the chemical composition, characterization, and biological evaluation of plant extracts, essential oils, and aromatic and medicinal plants, as well as synthetic compounds with potential medical applications. Emphasis will be placed on chromatographic, spectroscopic, and analytical techniques applied to medicinal chemistry and biology. The issue will provide a multidisciplinary platform bringing together medicinal chemistry, natural products chemistry, pharmacology, and biomedical research to promote innovative strategies for combating oxidative stress-related diseases.
