Introduction

Waste management and valorization have one of the key contributions in achieving SDGs (sustainable development goals) via development of eco-friendly, pollution free and low cost process for versatile applications. Continuous increase in urbanization, industrialization, and population growth cause tremendous pressure on environmental resources by exerting heavy pollution loading through waste generation and disturbing eco-system balance. Additionally, complete management of these wastes is not feasible in daily life where, continuous valorization of these waste is only the sustainable solution. One of the prominent value additions of these waste are fabrication of nanomaterial for different and broad application category. Synthesis of nanomaterial specifically from lignocellulosic waste have number of advantages like renewable, low cost and sustainable synthesis process with environmental compactible mode, Moreover, in fabrication process of nanomaterial using lignocellulosic waste can perform versatile option during the synthesis process, such as, in form of precursor, reducing agent, capping agent and stabilizer which can effectively reduce the cost of the entire application process where these nanomaterial used as catalyst. This lignocellulosic waste induced nanomaterial can be used as promising application for broad range of applications. Therefore, in light of above discussion the current thematic issue is based on development of nanomaterial synthesis process using lignocellulosic waste for different broad range of applications.
