Journal of Lightning Research is an Open Access online journal, which publishes research articles, reviews, and letters in all areas of lightning research including, thunderstorms and thunderstorm electrification, physics and effects of lightning flashes, lightning chemistry and its impact on Earth’s atmosphere, lightning and Earth’s climate, lightning induced effects in the upper atmosphere, engineering and physical aspects of lightning protection of structures, power and telecommunication systems, lightning grounding, lightning warning and medical aspects of lightning strikes to humans.

Journal of Lightning Research is a peer reviewed journal, and aims to provide the most complete and reliable source of information on current developments in the field. The emphasis will be on publishing quality papers rapidly and freely available to researchers and engineers worldwide.
