Brahma N. Singh

Dr. Singh is Director of Product Development (Generics) at Teva Pharmaceuticals USA (New Jersey). He has 16 years of extensive experience in the Product Development and regulatory filings of both solids and injectable products for US, Europe and Canada. Previously, Dr. Singh worked at Forest Labs (now Allergan) where he led several product development and technology transfer teams for about 9 years and contributed significantly towards approval of four brand products (Teflaro®, Vraylar®, Byvalsan®, and Avycaz®). Dr. Singh holds a Ph.D. in Industrial Pharmacy from St. John’s University, New York, a M.S. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from South Dakota State University, and B. Pharm and M. Pharm degrees from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) of Banaras Hindu University in India. He has authored 18 peer-reviewed publications including 3 book chapters, and 5 United States Patents (3 granted, 2 applications). Dr. Singh has been recognized by several technical leadership and merit awards by his employers and professional associations. He is an elected fellow of American College of Clinical Pharmacology (ACCP).

Viness Pillay

Professor Viness Pillay, a Fulbright Scholar and Fellow of the African Academy of Sciences (AAS), is a South African NRF Research Chair in Pharmaceutical Biomaterials and Polymer-Engineered Drug Delivery Technologies hosted by the University of the Witwatersrand. Prof. Pillay is a Personal Professor of Pharmaceutics and Director of the Wits Advanced Drug Delivery Platform (WADDP) Research Unit at the University of the Witwatersrand, Department of Pharmacy and Pharmacology, South Africa. He has nearly 25 years of experience in the field of drug delivery technology. Prof. Pillay has published more than 220 manuscripts, 47 patents, and over 35 eBooks and book chapters. He is also a Fellow of Academy of Translational Medicine Professionals.

Prof. Dr. Tomasz Bączek is the Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry of the Medical University of Gdańsk, Gdańsk, Poland. Currently he is also the Vice-Rector for Science of the Medical University of Gdańsk. He graduated the Faculty of Pharmacy, Medical University of Gdańsk in 1998 and obtained Ph.D. (2001) and D.Sc. (2007) in pharmaceutical analysis from the Medical University of Gdańsk. He received the scientific title of professor in 2014. Prof. Bączek’s main research interest comprises pharmaceutical analysis, proteomics, chemometrics and medicinal chemistry. Prof. Dr. Tomasz Bączek is an author and co-author of more than 130 original research papers with cumulative Impact Factor of ca. 250 points and h index of 21, which have got about 1500 citations, and published in pharmaceutically- or analytical chemistry-related journals.

Tommasina Coviello, born in Rome in 1959, graduated in Chemistry at “Sapienza” University of Rome and and acquired her Ph.D. degree in Chemical Sciences at the same University in 1988. In 1991 she was appointed as researcher of pharmaceutics and in 1998 as associate professor (“Sapienza” University of Rome). The main scientific topics faced by her studies are focused on the characterization and the preparation of modified drug delivery systems based on polymeric matrices. In particular polysaccharide-based hydrogels, as well as nanosystems, were developed and tested as carriers for proteins, enzymes and anticancer drugs.

Dr. Gemeinhart is Associate Professor in the departments of Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Biopharmaceutical Sciences, and Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Gemeinhart is also Research Integrity Officer for the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Gemeinhart was trained in bioengineering (B.S.E. from Purdue University), pharmaceutical sciences (Ph.D. from Purdue University), and chemical engineering (postdoctoral training at Cornell University). In his 20+ years of research, Dr. Gemeinhart has focused on soft mater engineering, with specific applications in biomedical sciences. He received more than $30 M from the governmental and industrial sources in research funding.
