Prof. Ivo Iavicoli obtained his degree in Medicine and his specialty in Occupational Medicine (both cum laude) at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Rome, Italy. He completed a Ph.D. in Occupational Medicine and Industrial Hygiene at the University of Milan. At present he is Associate Professor of Occupational Medicine at the Department of Public Health of the University of Naples ‘Federico II’. He is also Adjunct Professor at the School of Public Health and Health Sciences of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, U.S.A.

Dr. Ahsanulhaq obtained a doctorate (Ph.D.) from the Chonbuk National University, Jeonju, South Korea. Dr. Ahsanulhaq also completed two years post-doctoral fellowship from Toyama Univeristy, Japan.

Currently Dr. Ahsanulhaq is Associate Professor in Center of excellence in nanotechnology (CENT), and Chemistry department in King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. He has published more than 60 papers in reputed international journals. Dr. Ahsanulhaq is also editor of Metal chalcogenide nanostructures for renewable energy applications (Wiley)

Y. Lin

Dr. Yuehe Lin is a professor in School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering, Washington State University (WSU). He also holds a joint appointment at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), conducts research in nanotechnology, particularly development of small-scale devices, materials and analytical systems for biomedical diagnosis, drug delivery and energy and environmental applications. He has ~400 publications with a total citation about 33,000 and h-index 95. He was listed in Thomson Reuters’s highly-cited researchers in 2014, 2015 and 2016. Dr. Lin has over 10 patents. Half of the patents have been licensed to industrial partners for commercialization. He is a fellow of AAAS, Royal Society of Chemistry, and American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering.

E.B. Souto

Eliana B. Souto is Assistant Professor with Habilitation degree in Pharmaceutical Technology at the Faculty of Pharmacy of University of Coimbra (UC, Portugal). Dr. Souto graduated in pharmaceutical sciences in 2000 from the same university. In 2002 she obtained a post-graduated master's degree in Pharmaceutical Technology from the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Porto, Portugal. In 2005, she was awarded with the doctoral degree in Pharmaceutical Technology, Biopharmaceutics and Nanotechnology from the Institute of Pharmacy, Free University of Berlin (Germany) and in 2012 received the Habilitation Degree from Fernando Pessoa University, in Porto. Her current research topics include the design, development, and characterization of new drug delivery systems based on innovative nanomaterials. The main areas of professional experience include the design and construction of (lipid, polymeric, protein-based and polysaccharide-based) nanomaterials for drug therapy. Physicochemical characterization methodologies of particle size, zeta potential, drug and matrix stability, drug and matrix polymorphism, in vitro and in vivo assays of drug bioavailability: photon correlation spectroscopy, laser diffractometry, coulter-counter, field flow fractionation, nuclear and electron magnetic resonance, atomic force microscopy, scanning and transmission electron microscopy, confocal laser and light microscopy, WAXS and SAXS, differential scanning calorimetry, thermal gravimetry analysis, fluorimeter analysis, UV and Raman spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, high performance liquid chromatography, gas chromatography. Since 2004, Dr. Souto has published more than 150 papers in scientific journals with international referee, edited 4 books and contributed with more than 40 book chapters published by Elsevier, CRC Press and Taylor & Francis, Pan Stanford Publishing, Nova Science Publishers, Humana Press, Studium Press LLC, i-Smithers, American Scientific Publishers, Allured Publishing, John Wiley & Sons, Springer Verlag. The scientific production also includes more than 60 Conference Proceedings and 120 Abstracts presented in international conferences.

Y. Zhou

University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) and received his Ph.D.there in 2000. After working at Kyoto University in 2000–01, the Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces in 2002–03, the National Institute of Materials Science (NIMS, Japan) in 2003–04, the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST, Japan) in 2004–08, and the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2008–09, he joined as a full professor of the Eco-materials and Renewable Energy Research Center (ERERC), School of Physics, National Laboratory of Solid State Microstructures, Nanjing University, China. His research currently focuses on the design and fabrication of solar-light driven clean energy materials for photocatalysis and flexible solar cells. Prof. Zhou has authored more than 100 publications, including 15 reviews and 3 edited books.

Dr. G.F. Goya is Associate Professor at the Institute of Nanoscience of Aragón (INA), University of Zaragoza, and manages a group on nanomagnetism and biomedical applications of nanoparticles. He has a h-index of 30, and published more than 130 scientific papers. Prof. Goya has leaded the design, development and building of unique equipment for measuring power absorption in magnetic hyperthermia. He is co-founder and scientific advisor of a technology based company dedicated to the production of scientific and biomedical instruments. Dr. Ji received his Ph.D. in condensed matter physics from Nanjing University in 2003.In 2007, he began working as a postdoctoral associate at Laboratory of Solid State Microstructures, Nanjing University. Dr. Aihua Liu is Professor and Director of Institute for Biosensing, Qingdao University, China. He has nearly 25 years’ experience in biosensor, bio-templated synthesis of nanostructures and nano-bio self-assembly. Previously, Dr. Liu served as Professor and the Lead of Laboratory of Biosensing, Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy & Bioprocess, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Dr. Liu holds a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Physical Chemistry from Tohoku University, Japan. He was a fellow of Japanese Society for the Promotion of Sciences. During 2006-2010, he conducted his postdoctoral research in Michigan State University, University of Oklahoma, and University of Texas at Arlington. Dr Oleg Salata did his postgraduate study in semiconductor physics at A.F. Ioffe Institute, Saint Petersburg, Russia, and at Oxford University, UK. While working at Oxford, he pioneered nanomaterials research, established organic electroluminescence laboratory, and later lead an important research on nanomaterials safety. He authored and published over 30 scientific articles and several book chapters. Based on the strengths of his expertise and patents Dr Salata co-founded and directed a successful University spin-out company in the field of electronic displays. Dr Salata has an MBA degree from Warwick Business School, UK, and he is currently advising start-ups on strategy and helping young technology companies to thrive.

Xiaosheng Fang is currently professor at Fudan University, China. Dr. Qing Jiang is the Chueng Kong Scholar Professor of the School of Materials Science and Engineering, Jilin University and Director of the Key Laboratory of Automobile Materials, Ministry of Education, China. Dr. Su is a professor of analytical chemistry at University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB), China. He obtained his Ph.D. in chemistry in 2003 from Wuhan University, China.
