J. Evans

Joseph L. Evans, Ph.D., is Executive Manager, Research and Development, Stratum Nutrition (Saint Charles, MO, USA), and a Novus International Science Fellow. Dr. Evans holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Drexel University, and received post-doctoral training in physiology and pharmacology at Dartmouth Medical School and the Panum Institute. Dr. Evans’ translational research experience extends from mechanistic research through randomized, controlled, clinical trials, and has successfully focused on the discovery and commercialization of pharmacological and nutritional interventions for the metabolic and cardiovascular diseases. Dr. Evans has published approximately 80 peer-reviewed scientific papers, review articles, book chapters, abstracts, and US patents.

R.P. Hoffman

Dr. Hoffman obtained his medical degree (M.D.) from The Ohio State University College of Medicine. He did his pediatric residency at the Akron Children’s Hospital and his pediatric endocrinology fellowship at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. He is currently a Professor of Pediatrics and Program Director for the Pediatric Endocrinology Fellowship at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and The Ohio State University. His research interests are type 1 diabetes, hypoglycemia and the cardiovascular endocrinology.

Dr. Rosa Corcoy graduated in Medicine in 1982 at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Spain with highest honors. She is currently the Director of the Diabetes Unit at Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau in Barcelona, Aggregate Professor of the Department of Medicine of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and member of the CIBER-BBN, Zaragoza.

She is a clinical endocrinologist and her research has focused in endocrinological conditions & pregnancy and Type 1 diabetes mellitus. She is author or co-author or more than 100 articles and 40 book chapters. She has received several awards, among them the José Luis Rodriguez Miñón, Sociedad Española de Diabetes in 2010 and the Jorgen Pedersen Award, Diabetic Pregnancy Study Group-EASD in 2012.

She has served in the Board of Associació Catalana de Diabetes, Societat Catalana d’Endocrinologia, Sociedad Española de Diabetes, Grupo Español de Diabetes y Embarazo and Diabetic Pregnancy Study Group-DPSG.

He has lead consensus guidelines for obesity, the metabolic syndrome, physical activity, and diets for Asian Indians. Manfredi Tesauro obtained his medical degree in from the University Medical School in Palermo, he completed his fellowship in Endocrinology and Metabolic Disease in 2000 at University of Tor Vergata, Rome. From 1998 to 2001 he has been Visiting Fellow, National Institutes of Health, Pulmonary-Critical Care Medicine Branch, National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, MD, United States, to investigate the mechanisms leading to vascular damage in conditions associated with increased atherosclerotic risk. Since 2002, he has served as Clinical Investigator at the Department of Internal Medicine of Tor Vergata University. He is a Director of the Postgraduate School in "Sports Medicine" University of Rome "Tor Vergata" and Scientific Consultant at Italian Medicine Agency (AIFA) for Endocrine and Metabolic Disorders. He has been recipient of several awards and grants, member of many scientific societies and serves as ad hoc reviewer for several peer-reviewed journals. His main research interest over the last decade has focused upon the investigation of the pathophysiological mechanisms of endothelial dysfunction and atherosclerosis in patients with diabetes, obesity and metabolic syndrome. He has authored of more than 100 publications in top-ranked peer-reviewed journals. ( including PNAS, Circulation, Diabetes, Diabetes Care, ATVB, Hypertension, Journal of the American College of Cardiology etc etc)

Dr. Armstrong is Professor of Surgery (with Tenure) at The University of Arizona and Deputy Director of the Arizona Center for Accelerated Biomedical Innovation (ACABI).
