De Eça, Teresa Torres
Teresa Torres de Eça is the President of the Portuguese Art Teachers Association APECV, editor of the Portuguese art education Journal: IMAGINAR since 2000 and Assistant editor of the International Journal of Education through Art since 2007. She is a founding member of the Rede Ibero Americana de Educação Artística and World Councillor of since 2006. Currently, she is teaching drawing at Alves Martins Secondary School in Portugal and collaborates with the CIEP research centre of University of Évora in Portugal (http://www.ciep.uevora.pt/ciep/) and with the Research Centre Linha de Estudos Artísticos do Centro de Estudos da Criança da Universidade do Minho (Portugal)
Kroupp, Rachel
Rachel Kroupp is an art Education Lecturer, pedagogical supervisor and art curator at Kaye Academic College of Education in Beer Sheva, Israel, who conducts research on children’s drawings.
Lam, Bick Har
Dr Lam Bick Har is at present an Associate Professor of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at the Hong Kong Institute of Education. She graduated from the University of East Anglia in England for her B.Ed and M.Ed Research degrees, and obtained her PhD in the Hong Kong Polytechnic University on a study of art teachers’ curriculum conceptions and approaches to teaching. Prior to joining the higher education sector, she taught Visual Arts, English and Music as a secondary school teacher in Hong Kong. Bick-har has been an active member of the International Society for Education through Art over the past fifteen years. She published in the areas of curriculum development and art education, and her recent papers include: The Issues of Diversities in the School Curriculum, Journal of School Studies in Education (2008), The Affective and Social Outcomes of Low Achieving Students, Educational Research on Policy and Practice (2009), The Conceptions of Teaching Art held by Secondary School Art Teachers, International Journal of Art and Design Education, (2005). She also published a series of monographs on teaching in higher education, which includes: Experiential Learning through Institution-School Partnership to Promote Integrated Curriculum (in press), Reflections on Applying Mass Lecture Plus Tutorial Approach in Teacher Training Programme in Hong Kong (2007), and Action Learning and Action Research (2000). She introduced several art teacher training courses and professional teacher training courses in Hong Kong which include: Art & Craft Syllabus (1994), Professional Studies: Art & Craft (1996), and “Professional Skills: Primary Teaching (2002). Her recent work entitled “the Olympics” (2006) had been widely adopted by local schools as a leading teaching resource for Liberal Studies since the year of publication. She is a qualified school reviewer and is currently acting as curriculum consultant for a number of schools. She has built up a network via an e-learning platform called Active Classroom (http://www.ied.edu.hk/aclass/) to support teachers in promoting active learning in classroom. Bick-har has recently been invited by the Hong Kong Education Bureau to chair a school-wide professional development course known as school-institution partnership to promote active learning.
